Getting Started
Now you have chosen a way of being remembered, creating a journal and recording your memories helps create a sense of purpose throughout life’s journey, and knowing that others will share your story can also bring some level of comfort to the future ahead.
We are committed to providing the highest level of care and service to those who wish to create a life's journey tribute, and ensuring that your uniquely personal tribute is a fitting testimony to a life well-lived.
There are some things you will need to get together before we start.
Step 1: You will need a personal photograph that you are happy to share. As shown on this Sample Tribute.
This photo is for the main picture of your tribute, and will be the first thing people see when they open it.
Please remember that technology is our friend, and we can CROP an image on your behalf if there is only one section of it that you require
Step 2: What are your favourite 2 colours?
As you can see, the sample tribute is Blue & Gold.
You can choose any 2 colours you want.
Telling Your Story
Step 3: Writing or Record Your Story
Writing your life story doesn’t have to be complicated. Start writing your story by breaking it down into 10-15 stepping stones and turning points. Making a list of the major turning points in your life will help you find the structure of your story.
You don’t have to remember every event in your life, that would also be impossible. Focus on key events that brought you to where you are today. Start writing your story by remembering the life-changing moments that have shaped you.
Identify the key events that changed your life for better or for worse. These can be positive events such as getting married, the birth of your children, graduating from university, creating a business. And they will also include big and tragic events such as the loss of a loved one, migrating to a new country or surviving an illness.
Photographs are great memory triggers. You can use them as writing prompts and to recall forgotten details.
Another help is to make a list of ten random memories of when you did something for the first time. My first day in a foreign country, my first day of marriage, my first kiss, my first day at work, my first day as a parent, my first bicycle, the first time I ate sushi, the first time I went to the cinema on my own.
Choose one and write about it. Be specific. Give details. Was the bicycle you rode to school red or blue? Did it rain on your first day at work? What did you eat for lunch on your first day as a mother? You never know what will happen when you allow the pen to lead the way.
Remembering the details, all of our writing comes from memory. Memories are, by definition, subjective. Every time we recall a memory, we recreate it, we embellish it or expand on it. In other words, we are being creative. Don’t worry, nobody expects you to remember exactly what you said as a 12-year old or even as a 45-year old.
You can always add to your story anytime once your Tribute has been created.
Favourite Photos
Step 4: We need 2 more Photos
These can be any photos you wish, perhaps family photos, or close friends, maybe one particularly good photo of yourself. We will also need the title or description of the photo.
Please remember that technology is our friend, and we can CROP an image on your behalf if there is only one section of it that you require.
For Example in the image below has be altered, as we have Cropped the Image to removed the Arm of the person to the right.
(As seen on the sample tribute)
Upload Videos
Step 5: A Video (If you have one?)
This can be a Stand-Alone video that you may have stored somewhere, taken on your mobile phone, or a video you have loaded to YouTube or other online platforms.
If you have more than one video, we can add them later to your expanded gallery, however this is limited to 10 short videos for your initial package.
Upload Photos
Step 6: Creating Your Gallery
For the Gallery, we will need your first 20 photos.
We are aware that you may have hundreds of photos that you may wish to include, and we can add more once we have your Initial Tribute created, but for now all we need is your first 20 images.
Please remember to include the title or description of each photo. This is limited to 50 Characters.

Step 7: Your Favourite Place
We have the ability to include a location finder of your favourite place. This can be a place of reflection, a frequented beauty spot, or even your favourite holiday destination, the choice is yours.
For this, we simply need an address including Postcode/ZipCode.
Please remember to include the title or description of each photo. This is limited to 50 Characters.
Key to Your Story
Step 8: Sharing the Tribute
We will provide you with a High Resolution QR-Code that can be printed or engraved on a photo or ornament.
The QR-Code also sits at the bottom of the tribute, and when scanned by a mobile phone, the tribute will open a window into the life of the person it is dedicated to.
You can then share the tribute with family and friends easily and seamlessly.
Your Link, Your Choice
On request, we can supply your unique tribute QR-Code in the format required for any embedding.
The samples shown provide some ideas and ways in which your unique tribute QR-Code can be incorporated into your everyday life. Promoting, or just for fun, the QR-Code technology can guide anyone to Your Story.
Share From Your Phone
In addition to the QR-Code, you can also use the ‘Share Card’ button to share the tribute by email and text.
Further details on how to share your tribute will be sent with the QR-Code.
